Power Surge!

| | Comments (16)

Bryce and Tammy are truly a unique couple.  For as long as I have known them they have exhibited an energy and enthusiasm for life that few can match.  Over the last couple of months I have come to learn that Tammy also carries with her a certain amount of negative energy that can break down any electronic device.  Blackberry phones, laptop computers, and DSL routers are no match for Tammy.  She will push each device to the point of failure.  I have considered recommending her to lead up a software testing team where I work but she likes her current employer and job too much

Tonight was no exception as their house sustained a power surge.  The house went black for a second and then the power was back on.  Everything seemed fine until Tammy went to view todays comments from the blog.  To make a boring story short her DSL was whacked by the surge and has left Tammy disconnected from the internet world.  And yes they do have surge protectors in their home.  I'm sure her parents would argue that it's a good thing so that she can get some rest but I'm willing to bet that she has pulled out a set of screw drivers and dismantled the router by now looking for any sign of burnt wiring that she can solder back together.

Unfortunately for you, I get left with the responsibility of updating you on their status.  Tammy can add the colorful details later but essentially Bryce went in for a scheduled blood transfusion on Thursday along with some additional tests and follow-up.  A simple trip to the hospital for you or I is a monumental challenge for Bryce.  Friday and Saturday proved to be recovery days for both Bryce and Tammy but today he expressed that he is starting to feel better (relatively speaking) since the transfusion.

Bryce and Tammy,

I'm glad you're starting to feel better since the transfusion. Tammy, you don't have to be the Energizer Bunny--get some rest while you can. We love you both and hope you have a good week.

Matt, Tammy and Bryce are lucky to have you as a friend. Thanks for all you do to help them with the blog, and just being there.

Love, Aunt Elaine

Matt, what a true friend you are!! Thank you for all you do on the website, you have done an incredible job and the site is beautiful.
I check the blog more than just daily. It keeps me from calling; I know tons of calls are received and I really don't want to add to that mega media.
It's so good to hear good things. Bryce your strength is above and beyond what most could do. What courage you and Tammy have! We just want to have you here for the next 100 years! You both are so important to so many. I think it has something to do with hope, love, caring and with the reality of what is so important. We just don't know how much time any of us have with this earthly life we share. I just heard about a wonderful neighbor of mine. He reminds me of and an older version of you kids (you are to me!) Lightning took his life over the weekend. His life was such an extraordinary example of how to live, he was kind, happy, he made you feel good, he shared whatever he had and was a compassionate soul, he never missed an opportunity to be good to someone or say he loved them or enjoy the moment. He loved life and people and was a true friend to all. He was strong in what he believed and was not someone to take lightly. To be like him is my goal. He will be missed so much. Likewise the two of you are wonderful examples of how to live life and to love. I am a better person because of both of you and I have much to learn from you. You have given us a wake up call on what is so dang important! Lots of GOOD thoughts and prayers are being sent to you and for you. Love you - Rhonda

Bryce and Tammy,
I was excited to hear that Bryce was feeling better (relatively) after this last transfusion. I thought of Bryce when I donated blood last week and was able to tell his story when they asked about my wrist band. Just wanted to drop a note letting you know we are still thinking about and praying for you everyday.
Sorry I was not able to make the golf tournament but I was glad everyone had such a great time. You guys are unbelievable! What an amazing family.
With Love,
Eric

Hey Bryce and Tammy,

Hang in there! I'm glad you got some much needed rest. There is nothing more frustrating than when you can't access the internet! You guys have so much energy that you're overloading the system! ;)

Thanks for having Matt keep us informed. Our family thinks about you several times a day.

It is pretty amazing to think, Byrce, that the blood that courses through your veins comes from love others have shown through donating and it is one of the many things that is keeping you fighting the great fight!

You two are relentless in your fight...You guys are what faith is all about. You have been given the roughest patch of dirt full of chemical spills, rocky ground, and little sunshine and air....and yet there is not just a seedling growing, but a magnificent oak tree! Of course, there are many doctors, family, friends and strangers from around the world who are tilling the earth, removing as many rocks as they can, preparing the soil and watering it, to give the absolute best care to that oak tree.

Bryce and Tammy, I don't want you to be the 1%....I want you to show the medical field that you will continue to find new ways to stick around another day until you turn that 1% into 50% survival rates by sharing your faith, knowledge, and science with others. I want other "Bryce Browns" to beat this thing as well.

I love you guys,
Barbara

Thank you, Matt, for the excellent web page and for filling in when the "killer surge" hit.
I, like many other friends of Bryce and Tammy, was getting a little concerned about their welfare when nothing was being posted!
I'm glad that Bryce is feeling a little revived after the ordeal of the blood transfusion last Thursday. I was hoping when I knocked on the door and left the leaves and notes on the porch that you were both getting some rest on Saturday. I think about your courage and stamina often (my problems shrink!) and you are in my thoughts and prayers during each day. Love, Ann LeVitre

You don't know me, but I happened to come across your blog. Being a mother of 4 my heart goes out for you and I truly hope the best for you.
Besides the fact that you have made me remembering to appreciate life even more, you have also inspired me to make an appointment to get my moles checked.
Many thoughts to all of you from Denmark...

Hey Tammy, Bryce, and Dani!

I just wanted to share my first memory of Bryce. It was when Scott and I were stranded at the Rockin' C Ranch. This is when Tammy and Bryce were just dating, and drove way out to the middle of nowhere to rescue us. Bryce was an instant friend for going the extra mile to help out 2 desperate strangers (though later to be called family). You guys helped load up all of our stuff and drove us home.

One of my other favorite memories is our hike in Hawaii. Though not everyone's dream hike, I had a blast. Thanks for being patient with the crazy pregnant woman! I will keep this memory close to my heart always!

We love you guys!

Amy

Hey guys! Just wanted to get out to the site to say hello and get updates outside of what circulates through the Allosource DS channels! Believe it or not you guys are both constantly in our thoughts and Tammy is sorely missed! There isnt a string of nasty, scathing, sarcastic, demeaning emails flying through all the DS Blackberry's that doesnt end with the sentiment: "We miss Tammy." LOL. It was nice to read about "a day in the life" and Bryce's thoughts on the golf tourney...wish I could have made that! Take care and God Bless you guys...keep killing that cancer!!

Hi Guys,
Just wanted to plug in and say hey. I have been thinking about you guys BIG TIME!!!
Wanted to share my daily email with you guys because it made me think of you...

Today's Scripture

“No unbelief or distrust made him waver (doubtingly question) concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong and was empowered by faith as he gave praise and glory to God” (Romans 4:20 AMP).

Today's Word :

Praise is powerful! Praise is putting your faith in action. And just as putting your physical body into action to make it grow strong, putting your faith in action through prayer and thanksgiving will cause it to grow strong, too! I love what this verse says about Abraham: No unbelief made him waver regarding the promise of God. What does it mean to waver? To waver actually means to go back and forth. It’s a very unsteady posture. Spiritual wavering is when we go back and forth in believing the promises of God. Wavering shows up in our words and actions. When you speak contrary to God’s promises, you are wavering and unsteady. Notice this verse didn’t say that Abraham never had unbelief or doubting thoughts. It basically says that he didn’t let it control him or cause him to waver in his words, actions and thinking. He took captive every thought and stood strong through His praise and worship! Praise makes you stable. It makes you strong. Decide today to put your faith into action by thanking and praising Him all throughout the day! As you do, you’ll grow strong and live the life of victory God has in store for you!

A Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father, today I choose to bless Your name! I thank You for life. I thank You for breath. I thank You for provision, healing, strength and joy. I praise You for abundantly supplying all my needs so that I can be a blessing to others. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Bless you both Tammy and Bryce!!!
Love your friend,
Christine Uporsky
