Oh We're Home, Dani!
I'm writing this from the lobby of radiation oncology at the hospital. Bryce is having his heart zapped. I couldn't write anything last night because my DSL is down at home. Yes, HOME!! Bryce was discharged yesterday, and we are now back with our baby girl. When we pulled into the driveway, my friends were decorating the front porch with orange and purple ribbons (orange is Bryce's favorite color). Dani was napping, and woke up to her mommy picking her up out of bed. I'll remember that smile forever!
Bryce slept for a while, then watched part of a 007 movie at full-blast volume. I wonder if the chemo is messing up his hearing? Beth brought over Bryce's favorite food, mango chicken--it's the first real food he has had in 1 1/2 weeks! He prefers Boost drinks and yogurt while at the hospital, because the food there isn't quite what he had in mind.
He woke up this morning feeling very ill. He was in pain, nauseous and very tired. We are fairly certain that his take-home meds aren't quite the concentration as the home health people thought. He didn't feel like playing with Dani or getting out of bed. We'll see how the day goes...

Bryce & Tammy,
Just wanted to tell you that you are both an inspiration to me. I hope and pray for a miracle each day. Please please keep the faith and continue to fight.
Love you guys!
Home, Sweet Home! Dani is surely the happiest (and cutist) little girl in the world! It's wonderful to read your blogs and be inspired by your unconquerable spirit. The devotion you demonstrate is incredibly touching.
Shayla and I were talking about how difficult this must be for you. Early in her recovery she would read this exerpt aloud every morning until she had it memorized. (quite a feat with her lack of short-term memory) During confusion, frustration, and sadness it helped give her understanding and comfort. She wanted to share it with you. Pres. Hinkley shared this after the passing of his dear wife:
"It isn't as bad as we sometimes think it is.
It all works out. Don't worry.
I say that to myself every morning.
It will all work out.
Put your trust in God,
And move forward with faith
And confidence in the future.
The Lord will not forsake us.
He will not forsake us.
If we will put our trust in Him,
If we will pray to Him,
If we will live worthy of his blessings,
He will hear our prayers."
Oh, how we constantly pray for your little family...for PEACE. Again:
Look in the mirror and see the face of COURAGE! You are amazing!
We love you GOBS! Auntie Shawnee and Cuz Shayla
Dear Tammy, Bryce and Danika,
Of the many miracles that have come your way through all of this, I count the support of your friends among the greatest. I love reading all of the comments from friends and family and realize that life would be rather dull without them.
You two are amazing! What a toll this has taken from you. 'Home sweet home' takes on a new meaning to you as you are now able to be in familiar surroundings and hopefully sleep through the night. (remember when you used to do that?) Danika will be very happy to have her parents home, although I loved having her with me. She is a very precious and good baby.
Dad and I love you three very much and are rooting for that 1 percent!!! We are very encouraged by what we are now seeing.
Much love,
Mom
Bryce,
Good to see you at home. Ashley gave me a bunch of coupons for a free rounds of golf, so you need to hurry up before it snows. No matter how much pain your in it always makes me feel better to beat you up on the links. Ashley and I want to go with you and Tammy, so get moving on this healing thing. You are the one percent in just about everything you have ever done. Nobody beats the odds like you. You are the Highlander, and your are the one!
I love you bro, and Tammy is not bad either.

Take care, we love you guys!
Are prayers and thoughts are with you. With your attitudes and love you have for one another what better people to fight this and win then you. I am amazed with the strength you have and just wish you the best of luck and love that you will get through this and be a family forever like Heavenly father planned for you and your sweet Baby.

Sandra Call is one of my friends and told me about you and Bryce. Once I put it together I realized who you guys are! I went to Jr. high and High school with you. If I remember right we had a couple of classes together.

There is so much energy on your blog. I think everyone is drawn to it. It's just how you are in person, folks are drawn to you. Both of you have been on some curvey roads, experienced stuff that most will not experience and have risen higher than most ever will and have remained humble and good and loving and so open and honest with everybody you meet - there are no walls just plain love for humanity and it is now being felt, not only by those of us who have the good fortune to know you and love you and be loved by you in person, but anyone who has the privilege of reading about your life here is blessed. Every day we come here to witness a miracle. We hope we can say something meaningful and help you in some small way. Every day we leave this site and feel better ourselves just having the chance to be touched by your very souls, and feel we have indeed experianced a miracle. Oh Bryce, you have kites to fly, you and Dani, and Tammy. Run on that beach, feel the warm sand on the soles of your feet, smell that salty air, feel the soft wind blow through your hair and know the meaning of miracles first hand. Feel the gratitude of having a perfect body and know it is yours. Hear Dani laughing and clapping her hands and see your precious wife smiling for all shes worth because you are healthy, healthy, yes healthy and you are here to stay for a good many years. Lots of love and good wishes are being sent to you and for you throughout the country and I'm certain the universe. Love you. -Rhonda
It's great to hear you're home now! I'm glad you get to see Dani again and I'm sure she's more than happy to have you there.
Bryce IS the 1%!
Bryce and Tammy, I so love to read your blog. I just got back from camping and was relieved to get updated on Bryce, I've been wondering how he was doing all week. I believe in miracles so how could I even consider that one will not happen. I'm just waiting to see what the Lord has in mind but never even entertaining anything less. My prayers continue and my hope and faith are strong.
Steve spent three days in the hospital this week with fluid in his lungs(and body, the doctor says about 30 pounds worth). His kidneys are going downhill fast due to his diabetes and will soon need to start dialysis. The fear and uneasiness I feel about this is so miniscule compared to your guys situation. I am lifted by your love and hope and devotion. Thank you for your wonderful example.
Wendy
Bryce,
It was great to see you the other day. I am sorry it was under such crummy circumstances.
When I left the hospital after visiting with you, I sat in my car for awhile and cried and prayed. I wish that you and Tammy and your precious daughter and family didn’t have to endure this trail.
As I visited with the Lord and ask for blessings on your behalf, a favorite scripture came to my mind.
“Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed; for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” (Joshua 1:9)
Thanks for your example of courage and strength my friend. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May the Lord’s peace be with you and your family.

Wow -- There is no place like home! I'm sure home was even better knowing that Dani was there.
You both continue to amaze us MPIP followers. Your grace and dignity is second to none.
I'm praying hard that Bryce is the 1% -- Remember that somebody has to be the 1% -- so why not Bryce?
Hang in there!
Tara (wife to David-Stage IV)
Oh sweet Tammy Bryce and Dani! Thankyou thankyou for being so selfless and sharing such personal details and feelings. I think about you guys all the time and blueberry cheesecake icecream and how Bryce had purchased all of the remaining buckets of it at the surrounding Baskin Robbins (is that where it was?). You two make life fun for everyone around you!!! Thanks for being the stellar examples you are in EVERY situation...you ARE unconditional!
Tammy, tonight was the first I have been on Bryce's site and I am touched by your remarkable strength. David and I love you, Bryce and both sets of your parents. The support shown by every single person you know will make a difference in your lives. Continue to invite the positive spirit in....and add us to your list of supporters!
PS I am a proud wearer of Bryce's wristband.
Tammy and Bryce,

Love,
Jeff, Cassie, and the girls
